Welcome Back "Your Daily Donkey"!

YDD or Your Daily Donkey went silent almost 2 years ago after posting pages full of user submitted "Donkey" photos.  Not the animal, but surfers in weird positions, surf attire, surf vehicles, etc...

Word around the campfire was that the YDD author was feeling some bad karma for posting these photos on his blog and felt it was best to give it a rest.

After almost 2 years riding the bench, and filling his karma tank he's now ready to spread his photo journalism of sheer donkey-ness for everyone's daily pleasure.

Welcome back old friend, looking forward to your daily entertainment.

First 4th

My first 4th on Maui and heard that there were going to be fireworks over in Lahaina.  So I got the camera all setup in hopes to catch some of the action from my house.

Eight O'Clock came and went and didn't see anything, so I made my own show briefly.  It's not like southern California where just about every city has a show.  I read that it was tough for the city to come up with money for the show and even fell alittle short.

Plenty of fireworks being sold at the local grocery store, maybe tonight I'll see some driveway shows here upcountry.

Open season?

The Orange Curtain has a new campground that opened yesterday.


The cost of a night’s campout — $65 a night per site for RVs and trailers, $50 for tents and soft-sided vehicles. 

No tent stakes or campfires are allowed, only propane style bar-b-ques.


Remember, beach camping can get hot in the summer, and the newly landscaped grounds don’t really have any shade trees. 


Oh, and when those long period southern hemi's light up OC, you can bet that this lineup will for sure be 100x's more crowded with the easier access to day use parking along with extended "surf checks" from the new parking lot.
