Got alittle lesson from
keenfish last night after work on how to use my new gear. It took a few minutes for it to all come back to him, as he'd had his Canon A1 stolen 20yrs ago, but had some pretty good experience prior to.
So this morning I picked up a new battery and 4 rolls of Kodak 200 on the way down to the beach. Loaded up the film, and fired off a couple.
With my Sony digital, it makes a "shutter" sound when you take a photo, but thats just a pre-recorded sound that makes it sound like a shutter. This thing has the real deal and is pretty bitchen.
I was only able to take 2 shots of what appeared to be Pat'O surfing Blackies (I could be wrong) then the rains came so I packed it in.
I can't wait to see how these shots come out on film.
P.S. If anyone local to OC that has a camera tripod that they're not using and willing to donate, I'd greatly appreciate it. The one I have is a p.o.s. and it doesn't hold up the Canon A1 with zoom lense (its pretty heavy).
