T- land (part II)

Second part of the series for the day.

Early on in the session, I witnessed a phenomenon something seldom seen at this break...a heaving overhead barrel. The crossed up swells made for some interesting events, as a peak picked up the outside just right and it was a thing of beauty. Nobody was inside, but going over the should made for a good mind shak. Later I did witness a couple second cover mid wave, and then another peekaboo in the inside. Not alot of elbow room like HQ, but enough to stuff a grown man in.

Tyler Warren @ T-land (part I)

Tripped down to uppers for alittle more Simsperience. Surfed 3 hours and grabbed the cam for your viewing pleasure. Snapped quite a few so I'm doing a 2 or 3 part series that I'll post throughout the day. Since we've had a couple weeks without waves, it's good to see how these latest pulses are hitting.

I was shooting and another photog next to me mentioned that Pickles was in the water. Took a few shots of'm and these are the best. Enjoy..

LA Trippin

Today I took a road trip north to the Zamora compound to pickup a new sled. Came upon his abode when he was just finishing a UV coat on his personal 9' Simmons. Ian handshapes and also glasses all of his boards. Complete one man show, and produces a quality product. I highly recommend ordering your next board through him. He can make pretty much anything you can think of, long or short.

After much discussion on the Simmons design, it was time to head over to a childhood favorite gutbuster, The Munch Box. Chili cheese fries, chili cheese burger with onions and pickels...mmmm. I'd spent a couple years in the immediate area when I was in my mid-teens, laying my mark on many a wall, table, and bench at the LA schools skating with a ruffian group of street rats.

Please be surf tomorrow...

I am ready

jw was nice enough to let me take a rip at his 5'6" MiniSim this morning in knee/chest hi Blackies and I think I'm in love with this design. I was first introduced back over the summer down in O'side at the LokBox fin demo. It was in alittle bigger conditions back then (chest/head hi and soft) and had a couple hours to play around. The boards work with the abililty of a longboard to ride small conditions, and yet be agile enough to turn the tail around tight little snaps. They generate speed on flatter spots that anyone of my other boards would just have to trim through. I can't wait to get my hands on one of my own.
